General Policies & Guidelines:
-
“A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion.”
~Joseph H. Pilates
We recommend that you practice Pilates two to three times per week to experience its benefits.
- Registration forms must be completed by each client prior to their first private session, small group class, or open mat class. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first appointment or class in order to complete this paperwork.
- Payment is required in advance -- by cash, personal check, Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express.
Pre-paid sessions are non-negotiable, non-transferable, and non-refundable. All unused sessions expire 6 months after purchase date.
- All sessions and classes are 50-55 minutes in length, unless otherwise noted.
- Wear comfortable-fitting (not baggy) clothing, such as tights, leotards, leggings, shorts and tee shirts or tank tops.
- Be prepared to wear socks for your workout. Please bring clean socks with you. We recommend purchasing your own pair of grip-bottomed socks (Toesox.com, CrescentMoonYoga.com, Toezies.com). Toezies are for sale in the studio.
- Inform the instructor of any changes to your health status or of any newly acquired injury or condition.
- Please allow yourself and others to concentrate on their training and learning experience by turning off cell phones and keeping conversation to a minimum during your workout.
- Workout towels are provided and there is a water cooler for your convenience. If you prefer, bottled water is also available for purchase.
- Please note that we may change instructors for any class without prior notice.
Private and Semi-Private Training:
- Pilates Private and Semi-Private Sessions are scheduled by appointment only.
- To schedule a training session with us, call 508-385-8882, or e-mail us at JoesPlaceTruePilates@gmail.com.
- Payment is in advance, by cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
- Online scheduling is available to registered clients after completion of their first three sessions.
- Please make every attempt to arrive on time for private sessions. Appointments that begin late will end on time unless that day’s schedule permits extending your session to make up for a late arrival.
- Please note that we have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. Clients will be charged the full rate for any appointment that is cancelled or rescheduled without 24-hours notice.
- Inconsistent attendance for standing appointments may result in the loss of your regular appointment timeslot.
- All private training clients must secure their account with valid credit card information. Credit cards will not be charged for the first or subsequent sessions if payment by another preferred method is received prior to their scheduled session, or if the session is cancelled with at least 24-hours notice.
- We also are able to accept housecall appointments with select clients in the Mid-Cape area. Please call or e-mail for more information.

Small Group Sessions:
- When you register for a class, you make a commitment to attend the same class each week during the eight-week session.
- Payment is in advance, by cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
- Please arrive on time for your class – a few minutes early is recommended so participants can get started together and complete a full warm-up, without distraction.
- There are no make-up classes and no credit is given for missed classes, unless class was cancelled by our studio. If you know that you will be unable to attend certain classes within an eight-week session, and you would like to reserve a space in classes, you may opt to pay the single class rate, in advance, for the classes you wish to attend.
- All small group session clients must secure their account with valid credit card information. Credit cards will not be charged if payment by another preferred method is received one-week prior to the first class of their eight-week session, or if registration for the eight-session is cancelled with at least 2-weeks notice. Otherwise, your eight-week session will be automatically renewed and your credit card will be charged for the cost of that session.
- Reformer/Tower class participants are required to participate in a minimum of 5 private Pilates sessions prior to enrolling in group classes in order to assess their level and provide them with any individual modifications they may need, as well as properly place them into a group training session.
Open Mat Classes:
- Open classes are limited size and are filled on a first come, first served basis. Although it is not necessary to sign up in advance for open mat classes, we do recommend that you
sign up for your class online to reserve your space.
- Payment is required prior to the beginning of class.
- Payment is in advance, by cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
- Mats are provided, but you may prefer to bring your own. If you use a studio mat, please be sure to spray and wipe it down after your class.
- Some previous Pilates experience is highly recommended before attending an open mat class.
- Please rest when needed and modify or eliminate any movement that feels uncomfortable in your body or causes any discomfort or pain.
