BARRE & TRX

Joe’s BARRE: You don’t have to be a dancer to feel like one!

BARRE & TRX - [local_broad]

“There is no prior dance experience required to benefit from a BARRE program. But you will feel stronger, more flexible and coordinated – and more like a dancer with every class!”

We’ve developed our signature BARRE class to help you achieve a slim, strong, sculpted dancer’s body (or as close to that as your genetics will allow). Joe’s BARRE is a natural complement to our Pilates programs. This full-body workout burns fat and tones the entire body, sculpting your arms, abs, legs, and glutes through principles of dance, Pilates, and classic strength training.

Joe’s BARRE is intelligent exercise, emphasizing precision, form and focus that will help you develop a leaner, stronger body and a calmer, more relaxed mind thanks to a its blend of deep muscle toning, the fluidity and flow of ballet, and the core strengthening of Pilates. This dynamic workout, designed for all fitness levels, incorporates ballet barre strengthening and stretching, upper body sculpting with hand weights, Pilates matwork, and functional exercises using therapy bands and balls.

All of our BARRE instructors are Certified in BARRE programs as well as Pilates, lending expertise to each session.

TRX – Total Resistance Exercise!

BARRE & TRX - [local_broad]

“TRX® adds another dimension to your Pilates training, helping you gain additional upper body strength, cardiovascular conditioning, and muscular endurance. Many of our clients have been surprised how much the use of their Pilates ‘powerhouse’ (deep core muscles) helps them execute TRX® exercises, and equally amazed by the intensity and completeness of a workout built around such a simple piece of apparatus!”

The TRX® Suspension Trainer is a dynamic, versatile training method that leverages gravity and your bodyweight, allowing you to perform hundreds of exercises that help you build strength, power, and improve balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability. By utilizing your own bodyweight, the TRX® Suspension Trainer provides greater performance and functionality than traditional weight training. And you’re in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise – because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.

Looking for a cardio workout to help you lose weight and build muscular endurance? Our TRX® classes will keep you constantly moving from one exercise to the next in a circuit-like manner and have you firing multiple muscles, which increases the heart rate, burning more calories than while sitting or standing during traditional weight –training exercises.

JOE’S PLACE IS CAPE COD’S ONLY LICENSED TRX® FACILITY!

Although we infuse our Pilates training and principles into all of our TRX® classes, you do not have to be a Pilates expert to take a TRX® class. After taking a TRX® class at Joe’s Place, however, you may decide that you want to take some Pilates training!

Our TRX® classes are a great complement to your Pilates practice, and together you’ll enjoy even greater benefit from both training methods. We have adapted many of the Pilates mat exercises into the TRX® workout, and many Pilates reformer exercises relate nicely to the TRX® training as well.

All of our TRX® instructors are also Certified Pilates instructors, and our TRX® classes are limited to 8 participants, ensuring that you get lots of personal attention, and safe, effective instruction.
